Nyaaya Kannada Lead


Nyaaya is seeking an experienced Senior Lawyer to take charge of spearheading the development and implementation of legal awareness initiatives and video content in Kannada. We invite qualified candidates to apply for the position of Lead for our Nyaaya Kannada vertical.

Nyaaya is an open access, digital resource that provides simple, actionable, reliable and authoritative legal information to Indian citizens. We want to enable access to information about the law in multiple Indian languages so that access to justice is not limited to a privileged minority.


Description of position

Nyaaya is looking for an experienced lawyer with more than 5 years of experience to lead their work in Karnataka. We are looking for someone who is passionate about changing the way citizens interact with the law. They should be equipped with fluency of the Kannada language, be able to create and disseminate legal content in Kannada in a wide variety of ways, and plan and implement collaborative projects with governmental and non-governmental organisations in Karnataka.



  • Your primary task will be to lead the Nyaaya Kannada vertical.
  • You will work closely with the team to ensure fast-paced content development while ensuring the quality and accuracy of the final content. Content can be in written, audio and visual formats.
  • You will also be planning dissemination of Nyaaya’s Kannada content across various platforms, including the Nyaaya website and social media channels.
  • You will be creating content for campaigns (both online and offline) and working with the Outreach Lead to ensure reach of Nyaaya’s content.
  • You will be planning, finalising and implementing collaborations with governmental and non-governmental organisations in Karnataka.
  • You will be managing the Nyaaya Kannada social media platforms, and will be closely working with the Nyaaya Content Lead and Communications Manager to plan and implement the Nyaaya Kannada Social Media Calendar. 



  • Minimum five years of experience in either practicing or teaching law.
  • Fluency (particularly, in writing) in Kannada and English is mandatory for this role. 
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Ability to take ownership of a project and manage end-to-end execution.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team.
  • Strong leadership abilities are essential for effectively guiding and collaborating with our diverse team of lawyers.
  • The role requires frequent travel to various locations in Karnataka to conduct and coordinate on-ground legal awareness programs and video shoots.
  • The role involves close interaction with multiple state and NGO partners. Your capacity to establish and maintain productive relationships with these stakeholders will be crucial.


  • Previous experience in Kannada research and content writing is desirable.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing strategies for the kannada audience.
  • Experience in creating engaging video content in Kannada.

Location and Remuneration

The position will be based out of Bangalore. Remuneration will be commensurate with industry standards and your professional experience. This is a full-time position, with a standard probation period of 6 months for the selected candidate.
