About Vidhi
The Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy (“Vidhi”) is an independent think tank doing legal research to make better laws and improve governance for the public good. Vidhi is committed to producing legal research of the highest standard with the aim of informing public debate and contributing to improved governance. Vidhi works with Ministries of the Government of India and State Governments, as well as other public institutions, providing research and drafting support at various stages of law-making. Vidhi also conducts and freely disseminates independent research in areas of legal reform, which it believes is critical to India’s future.

Role Description
Vidhi is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join the Founders’ Office. This role provides a unique opportunity to work closely with one of Vidhi’s Co-Founders on key institutional priorities. The fellow will play a central role in driving internal strategic initiatives, scaling impact, supporting fundraising, facilitating cross-functional coordination, and advancing Vidhi’s institutional goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic and Institutional Support
- Assist in shaping and executing key institutional priorities, including impact assessments, impact scaling, vision and mission alignment, and long-term strategic planning.
- Contribute to the preparation of internal analyses, reports, and reviews for the senior leadership.
- Provide operational support for internal workshops, strategy reviews, and board meetings.
2. Cross-functional Coordination
- Liaise across teams and functions to ensure alignment and effective execution of cross-organisational initiatives.
- Monitor and facilitate progress on key institutional projects, helping to identify and resolve roadblocks.
3. Fundraising Support
- Contribute to the development of fundraising strategies, including ideation and drafting of grant proposals.
- Maintain and update fundraising trackers and follow up with potential donors.
- Coordinate with teams to package project ideas in line with funder priorities and organisational goals.
4. Strategic Communication
- Support the preparation of strategic documents, decks, and briefs for funders, board members, government clients, and other key stakeholders.
- Draft internal position papers, concept notes, and institutional narratives that articulate Vidhi’s work and impact effectively.
5. Research and Legal Policy Support
- Undertake research on legal and policy topics related to Vidhi’s core areas of work, as required.
- Contribute to the development of policy proposals and knowledge products.
Requirements
Essential
- A graduate or postgraduate degree in law, public policy, social sciences, or related fields
- 0-2 years of relevant experience, preferably in law, policy, consulting, think tanks, or strategy/operations roles.
- Strong analytical and writing skills, with the ability to distil complex information into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent organisational and project management abilities, with an eye for detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams and with external stakeholders.
- Proactive mindset, ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
Desirable
- Interest in strategy and economic reforms or policy
Location and Remuneration
- This is a full-time position based out of New Delhi.
- Remuneration will be competitive, in line with experience and existing structure at Vidhi.
